Why The New HotHatch's Will Never be Like The Old Ones...?

Fwd Cars Were normal boring cars with  the engine placed in the front under a bonnet and over a front train to deliver the power to the front wheels ... mainly used to move people from point a to b in a boring atmosphere ...until volkswagen decided to beef up the Mk1 in 1975 With 1.8L Straight 4 engine fed by a Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection which helped them develop a respectable 110Hp  & 115PS back in the days
the main feature is the light weight only 810Kg ,The Golf GTI was perhaps the first "hot hatch" with mass market appeal, and many other manufacturers since have created special sports models of their regular volume-selling small hatchbacks. Within a few years of its launch, it was faced with competition from cars including the Fiat Ritmo, Ford Escort XR3/XR3i, Renault 5 GT Turbo and Opel Kadett GTE...
anyway we all have favorite one mine is the Mk1 but we can all agree that since then hothatch become wider and heavier and more powerfull yeaaah you all think more power means more fun yes you are right in most cases but here we are in the case where power can't solve the problem ... yep the over weight and the more powerfull engines will give you the biggest understeer you can get which means you will tear your front wheels a part in the first corner trying to catch up with that RWD car That have the same power as your let's just say Ford Focus RS500 if not a crash however older hothatch such as the GTI with just enough power and pretty much no weigh at all it will give like a Front Wheels Powerslide something like that you can push it as hard as you can and still not belive how much handling you can get from a car that is set for daily use i mean you could really do the the stupidest thing with it and stay alive yeah right try that with any new hothatch and u'll be on the news "a car went off the road trying to pass in a corner " all what i am saying that newer hothatch should be light and have enough power not 310hp i mean 200hp can give you 40Smiles/Gallon as  long as the car is under let say 1200kg ...
